Comparison of digestibility parameters of commercial dry dog foods with different contents

ABSTRACT This study was aimed to evaluate and compare the nutrient digestibility of grain-inclusive grain-free commercial dry dog foods using method total fecal collection also explore their effects on consistency. 21 different foods, including 14 (7 grain-chicken meat, 7 grain-lamb meat) were investigated. 12 adult Golden retriever dogs (age 3-4 years, body weight=22.5±1.7kg) divided into 3 groups. The results trials indicated that meat showed highest matter, organic crude fiber. Overall, in group evaluation, higher fibers while had ether extract whereas differences scores consistencies between groups insignificant. Contrary popular belief, more digestive than terms matter matter. There are studies involving starch sources food formulations, but there is a need complete supply them with adequate nutrients. Also, each diet should be assessed based its overall profile rather individual ingredients.
